Rotational program: This opportunity will be based out of our corporate headquarters in Livonia, MI. The position will have a rotational element to learn about different areas of HR including but not limited to, safety, payroll & benefits, recruiting, employee relations and labor relations. This position includes remote flexibility with hybrid scheduling between in-office and work from home.

This position could include local travel as well as some multi-state travel. It is highly desirable that the individual be open to relocation within the US, after one to two years of experience with Alta.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all day to day queries and ad hoc requests via telephone, email and face-to-face, both internally and externally, e.g. employment verification's, benefit questions, password resets, etc.
  • Generate reports and make updates within HRIS system (Dayforce platform)
  • Assist with Benefits Open Enrollment, general benefits education, and year end processing activities.
  • Participate in performance review process, Annual Salary Review and Bonus processing for employees.
  • Assist with compliance reporting and periodic audits as needed.
  • Support Managers in all matters relating to HR including guidance regarding terms and conditions, absence, performance matters, flexible working etc.
  • Respond to requests for management and numerical information as required, e.g. Monthly and quarterly headcount, sickness absence reporting etc.
  • Leave administration involving short term disability, FMLA etc.

  • Microsoft Office, Outlook, HRIS, Internet
  • Able to perform Accounting tasks
  • Able to handle heavy workloads and prioritize own work
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
  • Responsible with confidential and sensitive information
  • Consistency in task completion and response time
  • A flexible approach, able to cope with changing environments and priorities
  • Basic understanding of payroll, benefits and labor compliance is desirable

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in HR or equivalent experience
  • Entry level
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
