The Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology department within the Drug Discovery division at Genentech is seeking a highly motivated and skilled receptor pharmacologist to join our cell-based binding group supporting therapeutic antibody discovery projects.

The Opportunity:

This laboratory based role involves designing, implementing and executing cell-based binding assays in close collaborations with multidisciplinary teams across all therapeutic areas in Genentech's Research and Early Development (gRED) organization.

  • You are responsible for data analysis and interpretation and communicating the results to cross-functional project teams in order to advance new protein-based therapies forward.

  • You are implementing established assays and contributing to the development of novel cell-based binding and biophysical technologies.

  • You will plan experiments to efficiently work on multiple projects simultaneously while adapting the schedule based on shifting priorities.

  • You are contributing to internal and external presentations as well as scientific publications.

Who you are:

  • You hold a Master's degree in pharmacology, biochemistry, biophysics, or similar and 2+ years of relevant drug discovery experience.

  • You have extensive experience with mammalian cell culture. Previous experience with primary cells is a plus.

  • You are a detail oriented, critical thinker with the ability to meet timelines in a fast paced environment.

  • You have proficiency in English and possess strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience with cell-based binding methods, such as FACS and Radioligand.

  • Candidates possessing an established record of relevant experience but without a Master's degree are also encouraged to apply.

  • Proficiency with GraphPad Prism.

Relocation benefits are not available for this posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $79,900 and $148,500 of hiring range.Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
