About the Role

We are looking for a passionate marketing professional to bring their launch and rare disease skills to a complex and difficult to treat category so we can do everything in our power to live up to our mission of defying limitation so that others can too. This highly visible position has been designed for a senior marketing professional who will be responsible of overseeing all pre and post launch marketing strategies and initiatives.

Job Description

Leading and Empowering

o Communicate regularly with the Executive Leadership Team

Collaboration:

o Build internal and external networks and navigate complex stakeholder ecosystems to align around common aims.

o Lead a collaborative, productive relationship between Otsuka's US and Global Marketing teams.

o Work closely with Medical Affairs and the field-based Customer Engagement teams to develop integrated and holistic strategies and solutions for patients and providers.

o Build new marketing capabilities that will allow for innovation and growth.

o Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to shape and deliver objectives and to unite around a shared purpose.

Drives for Results:

o Deliver on a successful launch that results in significant contribution to portfolio growth. The compounds represent a scientifically unique approach to treating symptoms that are not adequately addressed by current therapeutic options and/or for which existing treatments have an unsatisfactory safety and tolerability profile.

o Communicate a vision, set priorities, develop and execute pre-launch and launch plans that consistently achieves desired outcomes for said launch brand in the Nephrology/Immunology and Rare Disease area in the US.

o Develop strategic asset plans including launch readiness, brand strategy, annual tactical plans, and budgets, as well as medium to long term plans that optimize the assets over time.

o Actively contribute to market planning efforts, including forecasting, market research, and competitiveintelligence

o Hold responsibilities for meeting/exceeding brand financial targets both in sales and operating income.

o Cross-functional and organizational leadership to optimize work processes, effectively develop and execute brand strategy, and effectively monitor and evaluate performance.

o Work closely with medical leadership and the field-based Customer Engagement teams to build an effective and compliant collaboration covering KOL planning and engagement, publication planning, HEOR planning and medical education plans.

o Develop and manage annual operating budgets.

o Align with Customer Engagement Operations (Omnichannel, Business Analysis, Field Force Effectiveness) on cross functional collaboration.

o Take a broad perspective across the healthcare ecosystem to understand the patient journey and patient flow and how Otsuka can influence stakeholder decisions and patient experience to improve outcomes.

o Bring a positive future-oriented perspective to identify opportunities for improvement and translate them into adaptive customer specific strategies to drive Otsuka's vision and plan.

Customer Centricity

o Define and continually refine how to partner with and support patients, HCPs and other stakeholders to best meet the needs of patients and shape Otsuka's approach accordingly.

o Maintain strong relations with key opinion leaders and leaders of important initiatives.

o Align across the organization to create an orchestrated customer experience that is impactful, differentiating and creates value.

Qualifications

Required

* Bachelor's degree required.

* MBA or post-graduate degree desirable

* 15+ years of commercial experience, ideally spanning new product launch experience, marketing, sales, access, and market analysis experience within the US pharmaceutical or biotech industry.

* High level of intellectual curiosity combined with strong strategic and analytical skills.

* Extensive experience with developing and executing marketing strategies and tactics, market research and analysis and business forecasting.

* Strong executive leadership skills, communication, presentation, and business partnering ability.

* Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and decisive environment.

* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a positive, collaborative manner.

* Agility and flexibility to work in a newly designed customer engagement model.

* High level of self-awareness and emotional intelligence

* Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships.

* Strong strategic agility with the ability to analyze complex business issues and opportunities, adapt to evolving market and competitive dynamics, and utilize sound judgment to establish appropriate objectives.

* Able to create a learning environment, successfully works with individuals and teams through hands-on management to efficiently pilot new ideas and evaluate their merit to enhance strategy, execution, and performance.

* Extensive knowledge of commercial compliance and all laws and regulations that govern promotional and non-promotional activities.

* Current US work authorization required.

* Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Up to 30-50% travel is required*, based upon business needs.

Preferred

* Experience/knowledge of Rare Disease, Rare Tumor Oncology, Monoclonal Anti-bodies
