Job Description

Dover Precision Components is hiring a Senior Production Planner for our FW Murphy Production Controls business located in Rosenberg, TX. We manufacture and deliver a wide range of instrumentation and control solutions for the Oil & Gas Production and Natural Gas Compression markets. Our products improve the protection, performance, and reliability of the Natural Gas Supply Chain while protecting our environment and creating systems and equipment to help producers stay in compliance and meet stringent emission regulations. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Schedule Development: Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and inventory levels.
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate with production teams to allocate resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet production targets.
  • Capacity Planning:Assess production capacity and identify potential constraints or bottlenecks. Develop strategies to optimize capacity utilization and mitigate risks.
  • Demand Forecasting:Analyze historical data, market trends, and customer forecasts to predict future demand accurately. Adjust production schedules accordingly to ensure timely delivery and minimize excess inventory.
  • Inventory Management:Monitor inventory levels and work-in-progress to ensure adequate stock availability while minimizing carrying costs and obsolescence.
  • Continuous Improvement:Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity throughout the production cycle.
  • Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of production schedules, inventory levels, and performance metrics. Prepare regular reports and presentations for management review.
  • Risk Management:Anticipate and proactively address potential risks to production schedules, such as supply chain disruptions, equipment breakdowns, or staffing shortage.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • 5+ years' experience in production planning.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong MS Excel skills and experience using scheduling software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Project, JDE E1 Preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrated experience as a self-starter.

ALSO GREAT IF YOU BRING/ PREFERENCES

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations management, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • Related industry experience in instrumentation or controls manufacturing.
  • Background with 5S and Lean Manufacturing.
