Job Description

Position: Optical Support Engineer Co-op
Duration: 14 weeks
Date: Fall 2024. September 9, 2024 - December 20, 2024
Location: Dallas, TX (on-site)

Education Requirements:

Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications.

The Optical Support Engineer Intern will learn about automation and maintenance and gain experience on Nokia's Optical equipment.


Upon hiring, the student will perform basic troubleshooting to resolve issues encountered when deploying an Optical system. The Optical Support Engineer Co-op will work closely with Senior Engineers for day-to-day activities.


  • Ability to research/practice various disciplines to develop automated solutions support.
  • Strong reasoning skills: being able to use a systematic approach in problem-solving.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for equipment and network
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to analyze data and understand the relationships and correlations
  • Highly motivated, capable of working independently and in a team environment
