Job Summary:

This position works to define and execute a product vision that takes Joybird eCommerce / Retail website to the next level of growth. This role manages technology threads from ideation, development and into production. The role requires an understanding of eCommerce platforms, peripheral integrations, and experience in managing a product roadmap within Agile/Scrum project management methodologies.
This position must be effective at managing both large and small-scale projects and initiatives in parallel - working with team members to understand business requests, supporting UX/UI designs and in bringing the requirements to live through design, ensuring requirements are documented and understood by the development teams, and validating that the production launch is successful and fulfills the business requirements.

This position is hybrid and the candidate should be located in and around Los Angeles, CA.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

  • Collaborate with business owners and stakeholders to prioritize and to lead requirements gathering to define the features of a product.
  • Provide input to the digital product roadmap and backlog. Prioritize delivery of projects, enhancement requests, and bug-fixes based on business needs. Negotiate trade-offs with key stakeholders and create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.
  • Facilitate communication throughout the development process by partnering with key departments.
  • Perform market research, including best practices in UI/UX, SEO, site speed & performance, and ecommerce.
  • Inform product decisions with quantitative and qualitative data on user behavior, and when needed, build use cases and user stories to support points of view.
  • Support UX/UI designs in bringing the product roadmap to fruition and while supporting A/B testing & optimization.
  • Use customer insights, competitive research, knowledge of global markets, and analytics to identify product innovation opportunities aligned with market needs and business priorities; support building business cases to pursue those opportunities. Provide input to the make vs buy assessments and support third-party vendor vetting that can be used to innovate Joybird's eCommerce performance.
  • Oversee the implementation of new initiatives, including project management & status reporting, User Acceptance Testing, and formal sign-off & approval. Work with engineering to scope, plan and execute the development to cost and timeline goals. Escalate project risks and issues and develop mitigation plans as required.
  • Manage communication threads for integrations with third-party vendors, to ensure end-to-end process delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and support the resolution of production issues including but not limited to: merch catalog issues; promotions; product feed; site content
  • Work with business partners to design and continuously enhance business processes. Create user guides when necessary.
  • Support peak-traffic activities including sale preparedness planning & execution, penetration test remediation and site alignment with ADA standards

SCOPE & IMPACT:
  • Maintain site stability for 24 million users per year.
  • Maintain payment processing for $150-250 million per year through the consumer site.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field with 2 - 4 years of related experience in eCommerce consumer goods
  • Ability to translate user requirements into functional specifications and systems design as it pertains to eCommerce initiatives
  • Strong data analytical abilities with hands-on experience
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Understands System Development Life Cycles and various methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc)
  • Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and process improvement
  • Proficiency with website analytics including Google Analytics
  • High proficiency in planning, collaboration, communication, and reporting tools.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • Product design certification(s)
  • Experience with HTML, SQL, API's
  • Experience with Atlassian (Jira and Confluence) and Figma
  • Experience with direct conversion rate optimization projects and event-driven architecture
