We are looking for a Customer Solutions Architect (CSA) to join our team. The CSA position is a pre-sales role that is customer facing, representing NFS to government and industry partners. The CSA role will participate in business development functions, but will lead the solutions presentations, system design, perform PoCs/demos, support customer testing and ongoing operations, sales quoting, and proposal development process that leads to new business within NFS. We are looking for a CSA, who has extensive network experience, specifically IP/MPLS-based services (L2 VPN, L3 VPN, EVPN), QoS, network management, service assurance technologies (CFM, Y.1731, TWAMP etc.), ideally with hands-on knowledge of the Nokia IP routing portfolio.


As part of our team, you will:

  • Need to be able to work independently, and as a team member, and be responsible for acting as the technical lead when dealing with customers and partners.
  • Interact with other members of NFS (sales/post-sales etc.), and Nokia business and product groups.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in IP/MPLS, be able to engage customers, present viable technical solutions, and articulate their value to our customers.
  • Contribute to the creation of customer network evolution plans, and actively position our technology strategy, solutions, and products to address customer needs.
  • Address complex technical risks (e.g. product roadmap availability) with mitigation plans and solutions which generate solid business impact.
  • Work with customers on Proof of Concepts (PoCs), trials, demos etc. and provide first-level support in event of configuration questions.
  • Travel: This position will require travel, both domestic and international, 40% of the time.

Note: This position is only open to U.S. citizens, who can obtain at least a Secret level security clearance, given the nature of our customer.


You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years' experience in an IP/MPLS focused customer facing system/sales engineer (or consulting systems engineer, technical marketing engineer etc.) role in telecom industry, government, or equivalent military experience.
  • Detailed understanding of IP/MPLS technology and network implementation
  • Hands-on knowledge of Nokia IP routing portfolio i.e. ability to configure/troubleshoot the equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write technical papers and present to large groups in a formal setting.
