Position Description:

We are looking for a Safety Administrative Assistant to join our Safety Team to improve infrastructure in our Taylor office. The candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.
Typical responsibilities include:
  • Provide administrative support to the Safety Department
  • Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, safety programs, spreadsheets, and presentations
  • Document management - filing, printing, and archiving
  • Assist with safety activities and training as needed
  • Maintain safety related record-keeping to support team and compliance
  • Update prequalification websites such as ISNet, Avetta, Veriforce, and Contractor Compliance, etc. Provide administrative support to the Safety Department

  • Provide meeting minutes for safety committee meetings and other safety meetings
  • Arrange and participate in safety related meetings and conferences
  • Maintain employee safety training records
  • Update internal Safety Department website pages
  • Order, maintain, distribute, and track PPE, and other safety supplies
  • Recalibrate and check(bump) portable multi-gas monitoring meters. Potentially train employees in other departments on checking gas monitoring meters
  • Work safely always. Comply with applicable company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Work closely with People Services (HR), Administration, and Marketing with respect to safety items
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Safety Manager
  • Some travel to other company offices may be required
  • Maintain a safe working environment
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Skills/Experience:
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt to the unique needs of different audiences
  • Valid driver license with good driving record
  • Be able to lift 60 pounds
