Job Description:

As a Warehouse Lead, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the warehouse.
You will also be a key element in the success of meeting hourly deadlines and developing associates; you will be held accountable for your team’s production goals.
Every day you are expected to bring high energy and a positive mentality to the operation.
The Lead develops positive employee relations and supports the Operations Manager and the Management team.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Saturday (Days off will be communicated at time of interview)
  • Start time varies: (5am-7am depending on the day and request of UPS)



  • Arrive before 6am to clock in associates and make sure the area is set up
  • Assign all associates to the primary rows and sweeper(s) (evenly dispersed)
  • Make sure everyone is throwing at the needed pace (20+ PPM)
  • Check each row for missorts and address issues on an individual basis
  • Make sure full carts are swapped out as soon as they fill up (make sure people work together to swap, one person pulls while a second person grabs an empty)
  • Make sure the full carts are immediately pushed into the corresponding Light Sort cell
  • Check that the associates bring back the empty carts and the missorts on returning
  • Work with the Light Sort and Breakdown leads to ensure a balance of associates between areas
  • As rows finish (from back to front) move the associates to their next assignment
  • Completely clean the area and move to Light Sort to help manage your people

Specific things to work with associates on, all through the shift

  • Help them understand the minimum required PPM (20)
  • Show them their numbers as often as reasonable, by manually timing them
  • Try to keep the amount of people per row as even as possible
  • Make sure they are calling out their mis sorts
  • Keep the area clean, throw your garbage in the lined garbage cans
  • Throw the recycle into a gaylord on a wooden pallet
  • Save all gaylords if possible, do not cut lower than necessary
  • Change out carts as soon as they are full
  • Make sure that the rows work together, 1 person pull cart, 1 person grab an empty
  • When you pull a cart put the letter sign upside down on a neighboring cart
  • Make sure they bring back empty carts and mis sorts after dropping full carts
  • Pick up pieces immediately if accidentally dropped on the floor
  • Make sure they know where exception and FX/FBX pieces go
  • Use a pallet jack to move heavy pallets

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required; 3+ years of supervisor experience
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft programs. Must be able to use computer programs to keep track of work schedules, analysis of work orders, evaluations, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, identify, address problems and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to be able to read, write and speak English fluently (bilingual preferred).
  • Proficient math skills.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
