The Director of Commercial Finance Forecasting and Planning will serve as a strategic business partner to the Chief Commercial Officer, driving day-to-day commercial activity and financial performance. We are seeking a leader to design and and evolve the revenue forecasting process, tools, and partnership across the global finance organization to help create best in class revenue analytics. This role will forecast and analyze key financial metrics, including bookings, revenue, backlog, capacity, and gross margin for both SaaS and consulting services across the Certara portfolio. This role will also budget and forecast for the commercial organization and manage the allocation of commercial expenses across three divisions. Accordingly, this role will provide key support to divisional Finance Business Partners and the Corporate FP&A team.

• Own forecast and budget for Certara's Commercial team
• Provide timely, accurate, and actionable financial reporting to support decision-making.
• Monitor and analyze the financial performance of commercial operations, identifying key drivers and areas for improvement.
• Lead the review of business plans and forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Drive integrated business planning and ensure alignment with Marketing for realistic and accurate forecasts.
• Define sales strategy, whitespace analysis, and own customer profitability analytics
• Drive continuous improvement projects to improve data quality, report automation, and process streamlining
• Establish and track sales productivity metrics and improve forecasting by analyzing sales, tracking variances, and providing insights.
• Lead, monitor, and update management reporting package and other business-as-usual reports.
• Lead the preparation of materials for board meetings and other presentation support.
• Own the preparation and presentation of clear financial performance reports, including a comprehensive customer performance analysis.
• Design and administer allocation process to distribute S&M expenses to BU cost centers among three divisions.
• Ensure compliance with internal control and financial principles.
• Support commission calculations and design of sales compensation as required.

• Minimum of 9 years of experience in finance, including at least two years in a management position and a proven track record of driving change.
• At least 2-3 years of experience operating in a SaaS environment for a global software company. Sound understanding of the SaaS business model and key metrics (ARR, ACV, CAC, etc.)

• Proven experience in a senior-level commercial finance role, with a strong understanding of revenue recognition policies. Extensive experience with presentations to senior management, with extraordinary detail orientation and strong data visualization skills
• Experience in life sciences or technology company preferred.

• Experience with Salesforce required.
• Experience with NetSuite is a plus
