Group: Land Surveying

Position: Instrument Operator (Field Position)

Location: Indianapolis, IN

 

Our team of 40+ professionals have access to latest tools such as, GPS, robotic, and hydrographic surveying equipment. Our Land Surveying team does it all, from land title surveys, to topographic and boundary surveys, to hydrographic, transportation and utility route surveys, to right-of-way services and construction staking.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and organizing field surveys, including preparing equipment
  • Labor intensive tasks, including clearing brush, laying out stakes, and transporting equipment
  • CAD or GIS data editing, geometry calculations, analyzing survey data, and conducting land records research.
  • Operation of survey vehicles, robotic total stations and GPS receivers
  • Recording detailed notes and diagrams
  • ALTA/NSPS land title surveys and engineering surveys
  • Construction and Utility Surveying and Staking
  • Boundary & Retracement Surveys
  • Aerial Control
  • LiDAR Verifications
  • Topographic Survey & Utility Mapping
  • Acquisition Plats
  • Flood Mapping & Cross Sections
  • Preliminary D.O.T. Surveys
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in land surveying preferred, but no experience will be considered
  • Ability to work outdoors for prolonged periods of time in a wide range of weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds of equipment
  • Strong team player with effective internal & external communication skills
